6 Trader Joe’s Items I Can’t Live Without

01.05.24

Trader’s Joe’s is my playground. I always go in the mornings so I can really take my time and not feel rushed in the cheese section by aggressive after-work people trying to grab ingredients for dinner. Because of all the new products they bring in that are so fun, I like to try as many as possible. Some things I’m not a fan of, but others become staples in my home.

This list has a few old faithful products on it and it has new discoveries that I’ll never tire of! Give them a try next time you shop. And if you want to see more of my favorite TJs items, check out this blog post, My Trader Joe’s Staples, arguably one of the most popular blog posts I’ve ever created (however, it’s a bit outdated so I’m due to update it). Enjoy!

  1. Sweet Picanté Peppers ($4.99): These are a recent discovery for me. On Thanksgiving night, we went over to Thor’s boss’ house for a bit and his wife, Sarah, made a stunning charcuterie board. There were a few of these peppers on the board in a ramekin and no one had touched them. I tried one and about died I was instantly obsessed––ate them all. The peppers are sweet, so don’t let the “picanté” fool you. And they are stuffed with a cream cheese filling. I paired them with the new Herbes de Provence Triangle Crackers, also from Trader Joe’s. So good. And you might need a fork and knife because some of the peppers are too big for one bite.
  2. Non-Dairy Oat Milk, Maple Flavor ($2.99): It’s a real shame that this product is only available for a limited time because it is hands down my favorite TJ’s product EVER. And I mean ever. My at-home instant coffee (lol) is upleveled to no level it’s ever been to before. I freakin’ love this stuff, I can’t say it enough. About to go stock up now.
  3. Candied Pecans ($4.49): Also a new discovery this year… I had always seen these on the shelf, but never bought them until I wanted to make a late-night charcuterie board for Christmas Eve. After eating the first one, I couldn’t stop. Soooo these will be making another appearance in my household very soon.
  4. Pepita Salsa ($3.49): The runner up for my favorite Trader Joe’s product ever, behind the Maple Oat Milk, is this salsa. I once bought five jars of it at one time. It’s that good. Just so flavorful, hearty, savory, a little spice, and great texture with the whole pepitas in there. I’m also just a huge pepita fan in general so I might be biased. Give this a try if you haven’t.
  5. Mediterranean Style Hummus ($3.99): This is a classic staple I always have in my house. It’s much better than the traditional hummus that TJ’s sells too. It’s richer and creamier and you get a lot of bang for your buck.
  6. Ultra Moisturizing Hand Cream ($4.99): I can’t remember who told me about this––because I’d definitely never choose to buy this on my own––but it is the yummiest smelling smell ever. I am personally partial to more masculine smells and this errs on the side of that, but it’s not gross like a stinky, intense cologne. It’s subtle and I find myself sniffing my hands for extended periods of time after I use this. Not to mention… this hand cream it super buttery, smooth, and so moisturizing, just as the name promises. I keep a tube of this in my nightstand to put on at night so it can soak into my skin overnight. I know where your mind went for a second, don’t be a perv. lol.

Easy does it! See you next time for my next round of Trader Joe’s faves.
