My Trader Joe’s Staples

04.10.20

We all have our favorites from the best grocery store ever, Trader Joe’s. I thought I would put together my list of go-to products that I always pick up when I make a trip to TJ’s.

(If you’ve tried some of these, be sure to let me know on my IGTV TJs Haul videos!) If there are some I’m missing that are your staples, also be sure to let me know on my Instagram. I am always looking for the newest TJs staples to add to my pantry and let’s be honest, sometimes it’s difficult to take your sweet time while shopping there because it’s typically very crowded.

The only category missing from this list is of course, my favorite wines from Trader Joe’s. Let’s save that for another blog post, preferably one that is schedule to publish around a #BachelorMonday 🙂

Enjoy!!

  1. Coconut oil > Trader’s Joe coconut oil is half the cost for full quality. Highly recommend getting this item from TJs!
  2. Avocados > Does anyone else feel like it’s really hard to find good avocados lately? Everywhere but TJs. So I always pick up a few here.
  3. Bananas > Same with bananas. I just feel like this is another piece of their product that is just above the rest.
  4. Everything But The Bagel Seasoning > Need I say more about this!? I have tried Costco’s before and I just feel like TJs has the best version.
  5. Chipotle Black Bean Dip > I am addicted to this stuff. I am not even lying when I say that I’ve eaten an entire jar in one sitting…
  6. Vegetable Radiatore Organic Pasta > This pasta is so delicious and is made entirely of veggies. It has a very similar texture to regular pasta as well, and my favorite part, it’s not “enriched”! Never buy pasta that says it’s “enriched”.
  7. Cilantro Dressing > My mom bought this one day and put it in these chicken quesadillas she made. Ever since, I’ve been hooked. It’s amazing on salads, obviously, mexican food, italian and even pizza!
  8. Masala Simmer Sauce > I love putting this over some raw chicken breast in the crock pot and letting it cook all day. Serve it over some of TJ’s frozen rice and you have the perfect dinner!
  9. Coconut milk > When I’m not making TJ’s frozen rice and instead am cooking rice in my rice cooker, I always cook the rice in this coconut milk instead of water. The flavor is absolutely insane.
  10. Cinnamon Apple Snack Sticks > These are super light and great little snack to curb your sweet craving. They’re also a great snack for kids!
  11. Gorgonzola Gnocchi > This is in the frozen section and it’s delicious and great for a side dish or a quick lunch if you’re not in the mood to cook.
  12. Green Dragon Hot Sauce > Wow this stuff is delicious. It’s basically a green sriracha with a slight sweetness and a mild heat. But I do have a high spice tolerance. I put this on any asian or mexican food.
  13. Cornichons > If you know me well you know I am pickle obsessed, specifically dill. So I love these little cornichons because they are so vinegar-y and tart. Such a good addition to a nosh board.
  14. Italian Bomba Hot Pepper Sauce > Now this stuff is HOT. But the flavor is so delicious. This is great on a buttery pasta.
  15. Hand Cream > I have very dry skin and especially now with constant hand-washing to avoid catching coronavirus, Thor and I are using this a ton. I find myself just smelling my hands, too, because it smells sooo good!
  16. White Cheddar Corn Puffs > Great little light snack. Also great for kids.
  17. Vegetable Samosas > These are in the frozen section and I love to add them as a side to the Shawarma Chicken Thighs or if I make chicken cooked in the Masala Simmer Sauce. Also great as an appetizer for a party!
  18. Thai Sweet Chili Sauce > We love thai food in this house and I made a ground beef thai noodle dish that I always use this in. It’s also great with TJ’s frozen gyozas.
  19. Tandoori Naan > I am a sucker for naan bread! This is also great with any of the indian flavors listed in this blog post. I also love to make mini pizzas with it or dip it in the Zhoug Sauce! A great item to freeze in your freezer for later as well.
  20. Thai Yellow Curry Sauce > This is one of my newest finds and wow, it is amazing. Another great thing to add into a chicken dish. I have yet to try the red version but am excited to!
  21. Pizza Sauce > I love having this on hand. I put it on the Whole Wheat Lavash Bread and add vegetable toppings for a quick, healthier pizza. Also great to put on the naan bread.
  22. Sweet Apple Chicken Sausage > I love making this for Cannon for a quick lunch. He loves it! I don’t eat it myself much, however, it is delicious when I get to eat a piece or two off Cannon’s plate!
  23. Mandarin Orange Chicken > We have been eating this for years and it just never gets old. It is so dang good. Definitely not a healthy meal, but hey, you can splurge every now and then right? Pretty sure it’s one of TJ’s most popular items. You can find it in the frozen aisle.
  24. Organic Brown Rice > This rice takes 3 minutes in the microwave and it is always cooked to perfection. If I plan poorly for dinner, I love having this on hand because of how quick it is to make. You can find it in the frozen section.
  25. Shawarma Chicken Thighs > I love having this on hand as well because you just take it out of the packaging, lay it on parchment paper on a sheet pan and pop it in the oven! Great, easy dinner. This is in the refrigerated section.
  26. Zhoug Sauce > Some of my favorite ingredients all in one… cilantro, jalapeno and garlic. Sign. Me. Up. It’s spicy and flavorful. I like it with naan bread but you can eat it with any crackers.
  27. Unexpected Cheddar > I like to consider myself a cheddar cheese connoisseur and wow… this stuff takes the cake. I love a super sharp, tangy cheddar and this is all of that and more. It’s so dry that it’s crumbly. My favorite kind of cheese to snack on.
  28. Gluten Free Buttermilk Pancake & Waffle Mix > How is this mix so delicious? There’s a vanilla-y sweetness about it that’s so good. Bonus points for being gluten free!
  29. Whole Wheat Lavash Bread > I love putting this in my freezer and using it as needed since it thaws so fast. My favorite thing is to use it a crust for pizza.
  30. Organic Flaked Coconut > I put this in smoothies or on yogurt parfaits. So delicious.
  31. Crispy Crunchy Chocolate Chip Cookies > I call these cookie chips. They are addicting but not as heavy as a cookie. Love having a small handful to curb my sweet tooth!
  32. Gone Berry Crazy Chocolate Covered Strawberries > Me and Thor like these way better than the banana version of this. Another great item to satisfy a sweet tooth. Seems like I have a lot of these types of products in my house?? Haha. Find these in the frozen aisle.
  33. Pesto (not pictured) > I love TJs jarred pesto and I use it a lot for pastas (see ravioli below), especially this Salmon Pesto Orzo recipe from my friend Lauren over at What Lola Likes. Check it out!
  34. Refrigerated Ravioli (not pictured) > They have so many flavors of these and they cook so quickly that they are the perfect easy lunch or dinner. I make them for Cannon a lot too!
  35. Gyoza (not pictured) > These are frozen and they have pork, chicken and salmon. I haven’t tried the salmon yet but the pork and chicken are deeeeelish! Try with the Thai Sweet Chili Sauce.
  36. Green Goddess Dressing (not pictured) > I like the flavor of this dressing but it doesn’t last long from point of purchase, so you have to gobble it up quick!
  37. Cheddar Rockets (not pictured) > These are better than Annie’s and better for you than Cheez-Its. The perfect “meet in the middle” cheese cracker!
