Grilled Cheese Sloppy Joe Style

Servings: 4 people

Ingredients
  

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 yellow onion diced
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • ½ green bell pepper diced
  • 1 can tomato sauce
  • 1 tbsp tomato paste
  • ¼ cup ketchup
  • 2 tbsp yellow mustard
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce or to taste
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • 8 slices sourdough bread
  • 4 slices Kraft American cheese single oh yeah
  • 8 slices dill pickles Claussen are my fave

Method
 

  1. Heat up a cast iron skillet on the stove.
  2. Cook onions, garlic and peppers until softened.
  3. Add in ground beef and cook until brown.
  4. Season with salt and pepper.
  5. Add in tomato sauce and tomato paste. Stir until fully incorporated.
  6. Add in ketchup, mustard, and Worcestershire sauce.
  7. Let simmer until it thickens a bit.
  8. Butter the outside of bread slices.
  9. Lay four slices on heated stovetop burner.
  10. Layer dill pickles and Kraft American singles onto each slice of bread.
  11. Scoop sloppy joe mixture on top of pickles and cheese.
  12. Place other halves of bread onto the sloppy joe mixture.
  13. Grill until each side is golden brown and cheese is melted.
  14. Enjoy!
